Do Kenyans need a yellow fever certificate?
Plan to carry a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate unless current official advice for your exact route confirms that you do not need one. Kenya is associated with yellow-fever transmission risk, and South African authorities can request health documentation at entry.
A South African Government health notice states that travelers over one year old arriving from a yellow-fever-risk country, or transiting through one for more than 12 hours, must produce a valid certificate. The notice is older, so verify the current application with the South African High Commission in Nairobi and your airline.
What changes when traveling with children?
Children need their own valid travel documents. Extra documents can be required when a child travels with one parent, another adult, or alone. The exact documents depend on custody and consent.
